Why should I Join?

The benefits of joining are many. Perhaps the most important is that it gives you access to a wealth of knowledge, experience and help concerning all models of Leisure yachts. Much of this knowledge is already on file, in the form of journal and library articles. The journal, 'Saltings', is currently published three times a year; a sample can be seen by clicking here (you need Acrobat Reader to read this file, and you can download if necessary by clicking the icon on this page). Apart from these sources, advice and help is only an e-mail or ‘phone call away. Rally at Levington

Help with procurement of spare mouldings and other parts, invaluable since Leisure yachts have been long out of production, is also available.

Our local area organisers run rallies and social events, which invariably are convivial affairs…….

Eligibility for Membership

L23SL 'Funadama' The Leisure Owners Association is open to all.

Anyone who owns a Leisure yacht, or who is interested in promoting the interests of the Association may join as an ordinary member by completing the application form, and submitting it to the Membership Secretary with the current subscription fee.

Membership includes one’s partner, and any children up to the age of 18. LOA Pennant

The Leisure Owners pennant is available at the reduced price of £10 if bought when first joining the Association. Details are on the Application Form.

Fees

It will cost you as little as £10** a year to join the Association (there is no longer a joining fee). The membership renewal date is 1st April each year.

** If you opt to receive the Saltings journal electronically and thus earn a £5 discount on the normal annual fee of £15.

UK residents can pay by cheque or postal order; non-UK applicants may also pay by PayPal. Anyone can pay cash, but they are wholly responsible in the event of any loss. There is more detailed information about methods of payment etc on the Subscriptions page.

How to apply

Contact the Commodore, Barri Hopkins, for an application form and any further information you require.

Click on the PDF icon to open the membership application form in Acrobat format, which is the best for printing on A4 size paper. The correct return postal address is included on the form.

Click on the MS Word icon to open the membership application form in .rtf format which is compatible with almost all word processors. Right click on the icon and choose to save the target file on your PC. Use this version if you intend to complete the form electronically, either to post or if outside of the UK and you are intending to pay using PayPal, then you may email the completed form back to the Membership Secretary.

Click on the Acrobat icon if you wish to download the free Acrobat reader from the Internet.

The Small Print

Members agree to abide by the Rules and Constitution of the Association, and in particular must advise the Membership Secretary if they wish to resign, or of any changes to their registration details, e.g. address changes. These are in Acrobat (.pdf) format.
Please note that no subscription refunds are payable in any circumstances and that if you fail to make a subscription payment by the 1st May in any year, you will be deemed to have resigned, and will be removed from the list of members.
The Membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March. Applicants joining after 1st October in any year will remain valid until March 31st of the year following, i.e. will receive up to 18 months of membership in return for the first subscription. Members receive a membership card each year.
Membership details are held on a database to allow mailing lists etc. to be prepared, and to provide for a membership list to be published on this web site (in the members only protected area). Members have the right to request a copy of the information held in their own database record. The information you provide is subject to all the usual data protection safeguards and The Leisure Owners Association does not make any of this information available to other organisations, without your express consent.
