Annual General Meeting 2010
As
seems to be becoming the norm, this years AGM was held in bitterly cold
and snowy weather, on this occasion in Wroxham Norfolk.

The event had in fact begun the evening before when around 30 members
crowded into the Kings Head public house in Wroxham, for a fine meal,
and a few refreshing beers and glasses of wine.
The AGM proper kicked off promptly on the Sunday morning with close to
40 members in attendance. The business
was soon concluded and members and their guests settled down to a very
nice Sunday lunch served at the Hotel. As you will have gathered the
emphasis was very much on the social side of things, and an enjoyable
time was had by all.
The
new Committee was duly elected, and you can find full details in the
Members Zone. The
Association finances are healthy, and it was agreed to keep
Subscriptions at their current level, £15 for members taking Saltings by
post, and £10 if taking Saltings via the Internet.
The retiring Commodore- Barri Hopkins (on right in photo) presented the
incoming Commodore - Paul Valentine with his Commodores Pennant, whilst
Paul presented Barri with his past Commodores pennant.
Barri had overseen many important changes during his 3 years in office,
including the revamping of the Association spares capability, and
introduction of the new membership system. He was warmly thanked by Paul
and by all the members present.
Barri will remain very much involved with the Association, and is taking
on a support role, coordinating the production of owners manuals. Plans
are in hand for Leisure 17, 23 and 27/29 manuals, and volunteers have
already come forward to help.
Leisure 23SL Owners - New Replacement Parts Available
Forehatch
Rubber Hinge Tops
The original rubber hinge tops on the forehatch hinges on the Leisure 23SL
deteriorate due to weathering, and often split, potentially leading eventually
to loss of the forehatch.
The Association has had a supply of replacement hinge tops manufactured.
These are available from
Hurst Marine.
Main Hatches - the Association is now able to supply replacement
Main Hatches. Many of these are now badly crazed due to the effects of weather
on the translucent centre section. Full details from
Hurst Marine.
Local Contacts
The Association now has local contacts in the Norfolk Broads, Blackwater & Colne, Deben, Forth & Tay, Hamble, Tyne, Upper Severn & Avon, and Western Solent areas. If you would like to join in local events in these areas please make contact.
