The Owners Association was formed in 1982 and continues to go from strength to strength with a world wide membership of around 400. - Leisure 23SL Owners - the Association is now
able to supply replacement Main Hatches.
Many of these are now badly crazed due to the effects of weather on
the translucent centre section. If you are interested in finding out
more please contact Gerry Askham contact details are on the
Spares and Repairs page.
and - the Association is considering buying a supply of replacement forehatch rubber hinge tops (which deteriorate over time due to weathering). These are expected to cost £30 delivered in the UK. Please let the webmaster know if you are interested.
- Standing Orders - If you currently pay by Standing Order please cancel it with immediate effect as they are no longer acceptable to the Association. In future you will be able to pay on-line, or by cheque or postal order.
Local Contacts
The Association now has local contacts in the Norfolk Broads, Blackwater & Colne, Deben, Forth & Tay, Hamble and Tyne areas. If you would like to join in local events in these areas please make contact.
News
The
Blackwater and Crouch (East Coast Area) continues to be busy, having held
a very successful BBQ at Heybridge Basin (on the Blackwater near Maldon)
on the 9th June.
Steph & Shelia Harrison attended from Burnham in their 23SL 'Lotus
Eater' whilst Dave & Mo Sheen (Sanderling) and your webmaster and crew (Toodle
Pip) came up river from West Mersea and Tollesbury.
Other members, based locally, joined us on foot and by car.
Heybridge Basin is an excellent
venue for BBQ's and we soon had two BBQ's on
the go. Coupled with a few beers and glasses of wine, the party
continued until it got too cold, and some adjourned to Toodle Pip for
coffee and a night cap.
Our thanks to Len Minter for organising the event, and to Daphne who
made the salads and 'bits & bobs'.
