Joint Anniversary event with the Leisure Club Holland

14 - 16 September Birthday Party In Holland/Hoorn Markermeer Netherlands - details
The Leisure Club Holland (LCH) is 35 years old this year and they will be holding a celebration event. Our own Association is 30 years old and their Commodore, Willem van Riel has suggested we could join together.

Hoorn is an old seaport which is now enclosed within the Markermeer/Isslemeer and is renowned for its holiday attractions. It is located north of Amsterdam and within easy reach for those members who would like to combine the trip with further sight seeing.

The Commodore of the LCH has suggested we might take a traditional Dutch sailing barge for our accommodation which, weather permitting, will give us sailing on the Markermeer on the Saturday. The barges can sleep up to 35 persons and the cost works out at approximately 110 Euros per person for the weekend.

More information, and on-line registration can be found in the event page.

If you wish to take advantage of the accommodation and sailing trip on the barge you must register please no later than 20th February.

Langton Lady on her mooring in StornowayLeisure 22 'Langton Lady' on her mooring in Stornoway, she is in a lovely sheltered spot where she is moored all year round.

This allows me all year round sailing. The west coast of Scotland is a fantastic area to cruise and explore with sheltered spots for anchoring in abundance, the scenery is second to none and the people are friendly.

What more could you want ?

Looks idyllic to me - Webmaster !!

Patience on Windermere

There are not many spots as idyllic as Lake Windermere, and here is Stephen Higgs Leisure 20 'Patience', on one of those rather few nice days this past summer.

Leisure 22 'Puffin'There are not many moorings in such an attractive location as Fowey in Cornwall.

Here (left) is Puffin (owned by Association member Pete Lewis) lying peacefully to her mooring in Pont Pill.
