New members may buy a quality sewn pennant at a discounted price when first joining the Association. Details are on the Application Form, available on the How To Join page.

All About Standing Orders

Members who are resident in the UK may apply to pay renewal subscriptions by bankers standing order using this application form. This form must be sent directly to your bank.

Note that standing orders are not available to members living outside the UK, unless you have a UK based bank account.

The standing order is arranged to pay your subscription annually on the 1st April each year. If you have a standing order you will no longer have to worry about maintaining your membership; your subscription will be paid automatically.

Please note: For reasons of security, the Leisure Owners Association do not keep a record of standing orders, or your bank details. It is your responsibility to send it to your bank, and ensure that it is paid on the due date of 1st April each year, and cancel it if you decide to resign from the Association.

 

All About PayPal

PayPal is a very secure Internet based banking service that allows you to pay using your credit card, debit card, or bank account and make secure purchases without revealing your credit card number or financial information.

PayPal has lots of advantages if you are normally resident outside of the United Kingdom. You may pay your initial fees, and subsequent subscription renewal fees by PayPal and avoid the high banking fees  normally charged for international financial transactions.

Note however that you will be responsible for the PayPal fee (approximately 5%) which will be added to your PayPal invoices. If you have already indicated that you wish to use PayPal on your membership application form you will receive an email invitation to pay by PayPal as soon as your application form has been processed. If you have not indicated that you wish to use PayPal on your membership application, or if you are unsure how to proceed then please email the Membership Secretary for further advice.

Annual Subscriptions

The current membership fee is £15 (Sterling) per year which runs from 1st April. The fee provides full family membership including children up to 18 years of age.

Note: Members qualify for a £5 discount on the annual subscription if the Association Journal 'Saltings' is taken electronically rather than as a paper copy by post.

Each year during February/March, you will receive a subscription renewal notice from the membership secretary. This notice will explain your payment options.

Payment Methods

Membership Subscriptions and Joining Fees can be paid by:

• A cheque drawn on a UK Clearing House bank (essentially all the major UK banks operating conventional cheque book accounts).
• A Postal Order, available at any UK Post Office (a fee is also payable).
• By bank standing order. This method of payment is only available to members who have a UK Clearing House bank account.
• By cash, in £ Sterling or in € Euro notes. Please note: you will remain entirely liable for any losses that may occur in the post. Cash payments are not therefore recommended.
• If you are resident outside of the United Kingdom you may also pay using the PayPal Internet banking service. This has much to recommend it unless you have access to a UK Clearing House bank account. PayPal has proven to be the simplest method of payment for members living outside of the UK. Non UK resident new members wishing to use PayPal should tick the PayPal 'box' on the application form. The Association will add a small percentage (typically 5%) to cover the cost of the PayPal fees.
