Events are organised by the area vice commodores, and are designed to support the needs of the local Leisure Owners. in many cases distances are so great that sailing in company is just not feasible, but sometime social events, such as fitting out or laying up suppers are viable. The Annual General Meeting is generally the only national event and is organised by the committee in January/February each year.
Please note: At all times the decision to sail and/or participate in other Association events, is the individual and continuing responsibility of the yacht owner or the individual concerned. Neither the individual event Organiser nor the Leisure Owners Association or its officers can take any responsibility for yachts, their crews or third parties whether sailing or participating in shore or waterborne events.
In the event of bad weather organisers will often have an alternative venue planned, which is easily reached by road.
